At The Nigerian Health Journal (TNHJ), we are committed to maintaining a transparent and fair publication process. The following charges apply to all manuscript submissions:

1. Submission Fee (Initial Processing Fee)

• A non-refundable fee of ₦20,000 (approximately $20 USD) is required per manuscript at the point of submission.
• This fee covers initial editorial checks, plagiarism screening, and coordination of the peer-review process.
• Payment of this fee does not guarantee acceptance of the manuscript.

2. Publication Fee (Post-Acceptance)

• Upon successful peer review and acceptance, authors are required to pay a publication fee of ₦100,000 (approximately $100  USD).
• This fee covers:
• Copyediting and formatting
• Final proofreading
• Online publication and hosting
• Indexing and archiving support

3. Policy on Bulk Submissions

• For multiple manuscript submissions, the ₦20,000 non-refundable submission fee applies to each manuscript individually.
• Each manuscript is treated as a separate submission and undergoes an independent review process.

4. Fast-Track Review Service

Authors who require expedited processing of their manuscripts may opt for the TNHJ Fast-Track Review Service.

• The Fast-Track Review Fee is ₦150,000 (approximately $150 USD) per manuscript.
• This fee is payable only upon acceptance of the manuscript and replaces the standard publication fee of ₦100,000.
• Authors selecting the Fast-Track option must still pay the mandatory non-refundable submission fee of ₦20,000 (approximately $20 USD) at the time of submission.
• The Fast-Track Review Service is designed to shorten the review and editorial processing timeline, with a target review period of four (4) weeks, subject to reviewer availability and author responsiveness to revision requests.
• Selection of the Fast-Track option does not guarantee acceptance of the manuscript. All manuscripts are subjected to the same editorial screening, ethical requirements, plagiarism checks, and peer-review standards as regular submissions.
• Fast-Track fees are non-refundable once processing has commenced, regardless of the final editorial decision.
• The journal reserves the right to decline a Fast-Track request where the manuscript falls outside the journal’s scope or where suitable reviewers are unavailable within the accelerated timeline.

5. Important Notes

• All fees must be paid through the approved payment channels provided by the journal.
• Manuscripts will not proceed to peer review without confirmation of submission fee payment.
• Accepted manuscripts will not be published until the publication fee is fully paid.
• All payments made to the journal are non-refundable.

Waivers/Discounts

The journal may consider partial waivers or discounts in special cases (e.g., students or low-income country researchers), subject to editorial approval.
