Data Sharing Policy
The Nigerian Health Journal encourages authors to share all data underpinning their published research to promote transparency, reproducibility, and knowledge reuse. Authors must include a data availability statement in their manuscript, specifying where and how the data can be accessed, or providing a valid reason if data cannot be shared. TNHJ recommends depositing data in recognized open repositories such as Zenodo, Dryad, Mendeley Data, or institutional/national repositories. All shared datasets should be properly cited using a persistent identifier (e.g., DOI). Data sharing must: Comply with national and institutional ethical guidelines (e.g., NHREC in Nigeria); Protect the privacy and confidentiality of human subjects and include appropriate licensing (e.g., Creative Commons Attribution, CC BY). Authors must ensure appropriate anonymization and obtain necessary approvals as per Nigerian and international guidelines.
Failure to adhere to this policy may affect the review or publication process.
TNHJ data sharing policy will be reviewed annually and updated in line with developments in open science, national policy, and global data governance frameworks.
