1. Purpose
The journal is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content. This policy outlines the mechanisms in place to ensure the secure archiving and perpetual availability of all published articles.

a. Digital Preservation
The journal employs multiple digital archiving strategies to safeguard content against data loss, system failures, or cyber threats. These include:
 
a. Storing copies in a secure institutional repository and utilizing DataCite Digitial Commons.
b. Institutional and Self-Archiving: Authors are encouraged to deposit a copy of their published articles in institutional or subject-based repositories. The journal allows authors to archive preprints and postprints in compliance with open access policies.
 
3. Backup and Redundancy
Regular backups of the journal’s database and published content are conducted to ensure data integrity. These backups are stored on multiple servers and cloud-based platforms.
 
4. Open Access and Perpetual Availability
All articles published in the journal remain permanently accessible on the journal’s website. In the event of website discontinuation, alternative hosting solutions will be implemented to maintain accessibility.
 
5. Third-Party Archiving Services
The journal collaborates with third-party services such as:
 
- AJOL (African Journal Online) and Scopus for indexing and preservation.
- DataCite for DOI registration and metadata archiving.
- National libraries or university repositories for long-term storage.
